JoJo Siwa's 'Big Brother' Revelation: 'I'm Not a Lesbian, I'm Queer!'

JoJo Siwa fended off homophobic remarks from house mate Mickey Rourke earlier this season on the UK's "Celebrity Big Brother," telling him, "I can guarantee I'll still be gay" when Rourke rather creepily vowed to make her straight in a matter of days. Now, though, the entertainer has a revelation to make: She's "going to the Q!"
"During Tuesday's livestream of the reality series, the singer and actress revealed that her time on the show has helped her come to a new realization about her identity," Entertainment Weekly reported.
"I think that's the thing. I've always told myself I'm a lesbian, and I think being here I've realized, 'Oh, I'm not a lesbian, I'm queer,'" Siwa told fellow house mate Danny Beard, EW detailed. "And I think that's really cool."
EW recounted that "Beard, a 'RuPaul's Drag Race UK' winner who also identifies as queer, embraced Siwa."
Cried Siwa: "I'm switching letters!"
"You're queer, bitch!" Beard responded.
But the exuberant Siwa had more to say: "Fuck the L, I'm going to the Q!"
"That's what I love about sexuality," Siwa added.
The exchange was witnessed by fans watching the show's livestream, EW detailed.
But that wasn't the only bombshell the 21-year-old entertainer dropped.
EW noted that Siwa had been somewhat shy about discussing certain aspects of her private life on the show, going so far to talk about it with another house mate, Chris Hughes, "in a secret language, which she later revealed they'd created so that she would feel more comfortable discussing her gender identity."
The next day, Siwa spoke more plainly to the camera, suggesting she does not fit entirely comfortably within binary confines of gender.
"I've met a lot of females – love them, don't feel like them. Met a lot of males – love them, definitely not them," the singer confessed in an emotional moment. "Met a lot of people in my life that are nonbinary, and these beautiful nonbinary people are who I feel the most like," Siwa added. However, being nonbinary is "not something I want to say about myself yet," Siwa said.
The "Dancing with the Stars" alum added that the subject is "something that is confusing, and that's probably why we were talking about it last night."
EW recalled that in 2021 Siwa told the publication that while she was "never straight," she "also was never like, 'Oh, I'm gay.'" Despite that, Siwa "referred to herself as 'gay,' and then controversially dubbed herself the 'CEO of gay pop' in 2024."
