2022 Rewind: Harry Styles Opens Up About Sexuality, Poses for Revealing Photo

Harry Styles opened up a bit about questions regarding sexuality, which he called "bizarre" and "outdated." But a pic in the accompanying article is getting attention for a surprising reason.

"For a long time, it felt like the only thing that was mine was my sex life. I felt so ashamed about it, ashamed at the idea of people even knowing that I was having sex, let alone who with," Harry Styles told Better Homes and Gardens in a revelatory interview in which he discussed intimacy.

Styles was referring to the time he was part of One Direction, the boy band whose members had to straddle the good boy/bad boy image."At the time, there were still the kiss-and-tell things. Working out who I could trust was stressful," Styles said. "But I think I got to a place where I was like, why do I feel ashamed? I'm a 26-year-old man who's single; it's like, yes, I have sex."

And with whom. "Around the time of 'Fine Line,' he faced scrutiny around his sexuality," wrote Better Homes and Gardens. "People became incredulous that he wore dresses, waved Pride flags, and yet hadn't clarified with precision, publicly to a journalist or on social media, the specifics of who he'd slept with, how he defined."

For Styles, this is a "bizarre" and "outdated" expectation. "I've been really open with it with my friends, but that's my personal experience; it's mine," he said. "The whole point of where we should be heading, which is toward accepting everybody and being more open, is that it doesn't matter, and it's about not having to label everything, not having to clarify what boxes you're checking."

One thing Styles does very well is make headlines, as when he graced the cover of Vogue in drag or more recently appearing at Coachella in "a fully sequined jumpsuit that included a diving decolletage," according to Vogue. Today it's a pic accompanying the Home and Gardens article of the actor/singer sitting in a pool of water that is driving some wild with speculation on social media. In it, his pants down and sweater pulled up to reveal his striped underwear. But does it reveal something falling out of the underwear?
