Atlantic City's Miss'd America 2012 is...

The historic Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City celebrated the coronation of the newest drag legend. In the grand seaside tradition the new Miss'd America 2012 was crowned. Last year's incomparably talented Miss Kitty Hiccups passed the mantle to the Oregon based Miss Sabel Scities. Returning to host the event after some time off last year, Carson Kressley brought his own signature style and flair to an evening dedicated to celebrating lips, nips and tucks!
No stranger to the drag pageant circuit the winner Sabel Scities has competed and previously won the title of Miss Fire Island 2010. Along with her court of runners-up, including the amply skilled Miss Victoria "Porkchop" Parker and Miss Bootsie LeFaris (both hailing from South Carolina), the new title holder will carry on a responsibility of service expected of the reigning queen. The Miss'd America Pageant is dedicated to raising funds to support local agencies and social services including the South Jersey AIDS Alliance and Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS.
Sabel Scities promises that in her role as the 2012 Miss'd America, her focus will be to serve as a positive role model especially to our LGBT youth, who have been the sad focus of news headlines due to the suffering consequences of bullying. Sabel Scities has designs on inspiring the youth gay culture creatively and instilling pride in them to insure proper self -esteem. She says, "A little make-up goes a long way to making someone feel better about themselves."
Reliving the Roaring 20’s.
Before the celebrity panel of judges (which included Logo's A-Listers Ryan Nickulas and TJ Kelly, pop-culture journalist and author Michael Musto and drag legends Hedda Lettuce and Bianca Del Rio) whittled down their top choices, they scored all the participating contestants on their appearance in swim wear and evening gowns, unique talent and finally a decisively challenging Q&A - but not really. If anything, The Miss'd America Pageant is an enthusiastically engaging evening able to bring the surrounding communities from New York, Philadelphia, DC and other parts of Jersey to Atlantic City to enjoy all that this aspiring gay destination has to offer.
This year's host hotel Resorts Casino was the center of the party weekend with events to launch Miss'd America at its spacious dance club "Night Fever," and an after-party to remember at the hotel's gay club "Pro Bar" which had an encore performance from the pageant's musical guest, the legendary dance diva, Martha Wash.
With its homage to the rip roaring 1920's decadence, Resorts served as the appropriate backdrop to Atlantic City's nostalgic feel and Steven Andrade's spectacular "Divas in a Man's World" - featuring the most incredible female impersonators this side of Vegas.
