With spring upon us, we all can probably agree that the idea of "wellness" seems more important than ever.

The concept is different for everyone, of course. For some, wellness means hiking a mountain; others aim to improve their diets, while many just want to sleep better. But the end result is always the same: feeling better every day.

For many Americans, expanded COVID-19 vaccinations are the biggest step toward a brighter future. But as people get outside, reboot their exercise routines, and start responsibly socializing more, CBD may offer benefits that boost our sense of physical, mental and emotional wellness.

CBD Essentials
The retail market is inundated with CBD brands, but not all are created equal. Many consumers new to CBD aren't even fully aware of what's in their tincture, capsule or salve. CBD (cannabidiol) is derived from hemp plants, but it's a non-psychoactive cannabinoid molecule.

EVO3 Oils is committed to quality and only produces CBD products that are measured and verified by independent laboratories. Its American-grown hemp is pressed into oil and purified to become either full-spectrum (with trace THC) or broad-spectrum (THC-free) distillate. Master Cannabinologer Cristina Madruga sets apart EVO3 products with a custom blend of terpenes that restore more than 30 compounds lost during the purification process.

"Terpenes are naturally occurring compounds found in plants that give them their distinct aromas and flavors," says Madruga. "Some terpenes can have therapeutic effects as well — think aromatherapy. When we blend them back into our CBD products, you're going to be able to absorb more of that CBD. Terpenes help CBD cross the blood brain barrier, allowing CBD to cross from our circulatory system into our central nervous system more easily."

How does CBD work? It's complex biology, but the simple answer is that CBD supports the body's endocannabinoid system, which regulates our immune, cardiovascular, nervous, and other systems. Taking CBD may help our bodies feel more physically, mentally and emotionally balanced.

So you're over winter and ready to kickstart some physical routines. If your joints and muscles feel stiff, CBD might be able to help loosen you up. That's because inflammation — the body's answer to injury or infection — has shown to decrease with CBD. EVO3 topicals like muscle rub or spray can be applied directly on sore body parts before, during, or after a good workout session. And post-activity, soaking with a CBD bath bomb can be the perfect way to soothe lingering aches.

You're correct for thinking your circadian rhythms are out of whack in winter compared to spring because your internal clock is affected by changes in the light-dark cycle, along with other environmental factors. If your sleep is thrown off from the seasonal change, or for any other reason, consider CBD.

A 2019 study in The Permanente Journal showed that sleep improved for a majority of adults taking CBD. The same research also logged lower anxiety among subjects, and nearly all of them tolerated the CBD well.

Spring Allergies
Studies about CBD's anti-inflammatory potential means that it could help with underlying allergy symptoms, such as inflammation that can hit the throat and sinuses hard in spring. Drops of EVO3 CBD oil under the tongue may reduce throat, nose, or eye swelling and help balance the body's heightened springtime immune response.

Eating Better
When it comes to CBD and diet, there are loads of theories and preliminary reports. Some studies indicate that CBD could help reduce appetite or even help with metabolic disorders like diabetes. The science is still emerging, but one thing that's clear: tired bodies tend to crave foods with more sugar and refined carbohydrates for a quick jolt of energy. In that regard, if CBD can help improve sleep and exercise, then it's possible that CBD can inspire healthier eating.

Better still, CBD-infused oil can be used as an ingredient for salad dressings and as a finishing oil for other dishes. (Just don't cook with CBD oil since the heat may diminish its potency or make it bitter.) Practice your top chef skills with EVO3 Extra Virgin Organic CBD Olive Oil, made with organic olive oil from family farms in Lesvos, Greece.
